Getting Started With Therapy
What Does LCMFT Mean?
LCMFT stands for Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist. Jazmine Diggs holds this credential and is licensed in Maryland. The title includes marriage and family, but her services also include individual and teen therapy. A relational and systemic focus considers your experience alongside the relationships and environments that are part of your life.

The Title Does Not Limit Your Concerns
You do not need to be married or seeking family sessions to ask about individual therapy with Jazmine. Her practice includes adults, couples, families with teen or adult children, and teens. You can ask which service fits what you want to discuss. The credential is not a requirement to involve other people in every conversation or frame every concern as a family issue.
Relational Means Considering Connection
A relational focus leaves room for how you experience closeness, conflict, expectations, and belonging. You might discuss relationships even if you attend sessions on your own. That does not mean another person explains everything you feel. You can consider your own perspective alongside what happens between people, including where your wishes differ from the expectations around you.
Systemic Means Considering Context
A systemic approach looks beyond an isolated concern to the connections and environments around it. Family patterns, culture, and responsibilities can belong in that conversation. You do not have to agree with everyone in your life to discuss that context. Considering relationships is different from excusing something that hurts or deciding one person is responsible for every difficulty.
Ask About the Person’s Approach Too
A credential names a professional role; it does not describe every aspect of how someone works. Jazmine describes her approach as warm, collaborative, strengths-based, systemic, and decolonizing. Her practice is LGBTQIA+-affirming. You can ask how those descriptions relate to your concerns. This guide does not add license numbers, years in practice, school details, or claims about additional credentials.
If You Want to Talk
This guide is not a substitute for therapy. You can bring these questions to Jazmine without having a finished explanation.
