Exploring Identity and Sexuality in Your 20s and 30s

You may be reconsidering parts of yourself while people around you seem certain about who they are. Your twenties and thirties do not come with a deadline for understanding identity or sexuality. You can ask questions about what feels familiar, what feels different, and how you want to relate to yourself and others.

There Is No Required Order

You do not need to settle identity before talking about relationships, or understand sexuality before discussing belonging. These questions may overlap or feel separate. You can give attention to what matters now without turning it into a plan for every part of your life. Uncertainty can remain part of the conversation rather than something to resolve before seeking support.

Language Can Change

A word may feel useful for a while and less useful later. You can use a label, leave it open, or describe your experience another way. Choosing language does not mean you owe everyone an explanation. You can consider what you want to share and with whom, while recognizing that your wishes and circumstances may differ across relationships.

Belonging Can Hold Mixed Feelings

You may care about family connections while questioning expectations you grew up with. You might feel close to who you were and curious about who you are becoming. These experiences do not have to cancel each other out. You can discuss the tension without being asked to choose one simple story or set aside the relationships that matter to you.

Therapy Can Include These Questions

Jazmine offers LGBTQIA+-affirming individual therapy with room for identity development, relationships, intimacy, and exploring sexuality. Her systemic approach considers your context alongside your feelings. You can bring questions that are unfinished or difficult to phrase. Therapy is not a requirement to select a label, make a particular relationship choice, or become a different version of yourself.

If You Want to Talk

This guide is not a substitute for therapy. You can bring these questions to Jazmine without having a finished explanation.

Sessions are 50 minutes by secure video, with you located in Maryland. Private pay is $200 per session. Individual and teen therapy are also available through Headway with Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, and Kaiser Permanente. Superbills are available for out-of-network benefits.

You can request a free 15-minute consultation by phone through the request form, and Jazmine personally confirms each request.
